The Two Types of Florida Renewals
Many patients get confused by the dual-tracking nature of Florida's medical cannabis system. To stay legal and active, you must track two separate expiration dates:
1. Physician Certification (Every 30 Weeks)
Florida Department of Health rules limit active recommendations to 210 days (30 weeks). To buy from dispensaries, your doctor must enter new orders before the active period expires.
2. State ID Card Renewal (Annually)
Your physical registry card expires every 12 months. This is completed directly on the Florida Medical Marijuana Use Registry (OMMU) portal, requiring a passport-style photo and a state fee of $75.
How to Renew Your Medical Marijuana Card in Florida
